Departure Formalities
Approximately between three to six months before the estimated last day of work (depending on the contract type), BE Central confirms the end of the contract with the hierarchy and records it in EDH. Once the EDH document is completed, BE Central contacts the person concerned via email to guide them through the departure formalities and inform them of the various services they should consult according to their contract type.
These formalities are essential to confirm with each service that the Member of Personnel (MoP) is leaving and to ensure the return of all CERN property. Once these steps are completed, and the person confirms their departure from the local area, we can initiate the travel payment process (if the individual is entitled to it based on a lump-sum). This is a key step for eligible staff to receive the reinstallation indemnity from the Installation Service.
