Sick Leave
Sick leave (100%) is taken care of by the Group Administrative Officer (GAO), who needs to be informed of any sick leave in their groups as soon as possible. When requesting a sick leave, it is important to add your supervisor in copy to ensure they are aware of your absence.
There are 7 days of sick leave without a medical certificate per year, however, if the sick leave period is longer than three consecutive days (including Saturdays and Sundays), a medical certificate is required.
In regards to long term sick leave, the GAO of your group must receive a new certificate each month to prolong the requested sick leave.
Should this sick leave be part time, then the Departmental Administrative Officer (DAO) takes care of entering this via a Personal Schedule.
